Victoria joins Harpenden Hopper's 10th anniversary celebrations

I was delighted to join the volunteers at the Harpenden Hopper as it celebrated its 10th anniversary, recognising a decade of providing accessible community transport and tackling isolation across Harpenden.

The celebration brought together volunteer drivers, passengers, trustees, sponsors, funders and local community leaders to mark the milestone and reflect on the service's impact over the past decade.

During the visit, I met with volunteers and passengers to hear first-hand how the Hopper helps people stay connected, maintain their independence and access essential services. I also learned about the organisation's ambitions for the future, including expanding the service, recruiting more volunteer drivers and working towards a more sustainable fleet.

"To mark this special milestone, I've submitted an Early Day Motion in Parliament so the Harpenden Hopper's remarkable contribution is recognised nationally and its achievements are permanently recorded in Hansard for future generations."
